Artist, teacher, mother, wife, cook exemplar—Sarah Weil Bauman passed away on July. 5, 2026. An extended illness preceded the death of this strong and remarkable woman.
Sarah was born in Winona, MN to David Archie Bauman and Trude Weil Bauman on Nov 16, 1943. She worked as an artist and teacher for most of her life. She was a prolific ceramic artist producing sculptures and figures, often with Jewish themes. Her two dimensional work contains a large body of prints and drawings again often with Jewish content. Her works appear in the homes of many Lincolnites. Later in life she moved with her husband Miles Bryant to Bellingham, WA. She continued showing her works to the Jewish community there and was an active member of two congregations: Tifereth Israel in Lincoln, NE and Congregation Beth Israel in Bellingham, WA. A sponsored one woman show held in Bellingham increased her visibility.
Sarah is survived by her husband, Miles Bryant, her two sons, Benjamin Bryant and Zachary Bryant, a granddaughter, Kennedy Aspen Bryant, and a sister Addie Jacobson.
