Obituary For Lucy P. Woodard

Lucy Woodard passed away peacefully at her home in Ferndale, WA on March 1st, 2026. She was born on July 19th, 1938 in Evanston, IL to Alexander Bremner and Elizabeth (Cluff) Peck.

Lucy was a native of the Chicago area and became a long-term resident of Palos Verdes, CA before relocating to Ferndale, WA in her later years. She attended Scripps College and, in her career, became an executive assistant in the aerospace, logistics, and finance industries.

In January of 1960, Lucy married William Thornton Woodard and together they had three children, Elizabeth, William, and Spencer.

Lucy had many diverse interests. She was curious, an avid writer and was a proud member of PEO and the Junior League. She was a lover of flowers, family, and friends, and was a rescuer of dogs, mostly seniors.

Lucy was preceded in death by her husband William Woodard, her parents Bremner and Elizabeth Peck, sisters Patricia Stacy and Elizabeth Speer, and grandson Dylan Woodard.

She is survived by her three children Elizabeth (Mark) Griep, William (Tiffany) Woodard, and Spencer (Nicole) Woodard, grandchildren Chelsea Griep, Shaun Griep, Chase Woodard, and Emily Woodard, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, and her dog, a Havanese named Sassy.
