Corrine Gail Bliven, age 82, passed away at home on February 12, 2025, in Ferndale, Washington. She was born on July 13, 1942, to Clarence and Amy (Paulson) Pruno in Marvin, South Dakota.
In 1960, after graduating high school in South Shore, SD, Corrine headed west for a year of college at Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, WA. From there she moved north to Bellingham, WA and worked at 1st National Bank of Ferndale from 1961 to 1963. Early in 1964 Corrine married Jim Bliven, and for most of that first year they lived in California where Jim was stationed in the Navy. After Jim’s honorable discharge they returned to Bellingham. Corrine worked at Northwestern Commercial Bank from 1965 to 1971. As their family started to grow, she became a homemaker for the next nine years. When she was able to return to the workforce, Corrine joined the team at Ennen’s Food Stores in 1980. She enjoyed 19 years at Ennen’s until her retirement.
Corrine is preceded in death by her parents; her in-laws; husband Jim; sisters Alice Winkler, Elaine Butenschoen, Gladys Eckberg, Iris Bunting, and Luvilla Weber; and brother Curtis Pruno.
She is survived by her children Brenda Ferrell (John), Rhonda Reed (Jim), and Jay Bliven (April); grandchildren Alyse, Alec, Andrea, Jazmin, Ian, Annika, and Travis; great-grandchildren Gavin, Chase, and Camila; sister-in-law Lee Ann Caviness; plus many special nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 1:00pm, in the Chapel at Greenacres Memorial Park, 5700 Northwest Dr, Ferndale, WA. Reception to follow.
